The Rainbow house service project.

Our first service project was at the Rainbow house which is a organization who helps families of sick children who have had to travel for treatment. We offered to bake the families some cookies to lighten their spirits. So on November 21, 2019 we all went to the rainbow house, and made the families some chocolate chip cookies and some sugar cookies. Though this may seem like a insignificant project not worth talking about, it's more talking about the importance of service in scouting. A big part of scouts is the service we do and how it helps the community. It is important to be a service to our community. Those families were in a very trying time they're children were sick with various illnesses and even though it was something as little as cookies it was a simple act of kindness that made their days. This goes a long with the scout slogan "Do a good turn daily" we were doing our good turn and so should every scout in the scouting program. It can be as small as helping around the house, or as big as a service project to help the homeless. You don't even have to be a scout to do a good turn daily, it can be a goal for anyone to do a good turn daily, just being a helpful and kind person no matter if your a scout or not is important. I invite my fellow scouts and fellow people to do a good turn daily it can be small or big.

I'm back! -An update

 So, it's been a few years. I have earned the rank of Eagle about a year ago now. I am now currently very involved in the OA(Order of the Arrow), I've worked two years at my council summer camp, etc. In this post I'll give you a brief update of the past two years.  First off the big thing, I earned Eagle Scout! I'll write a whole post about my project later on, but I'll give a brief description of my project. My project was a adoption event and donation drive for a local no-kill animal shelter. I am very passionate about animals and especially no-kill shelters. I have always tried to support no-kills so when the opportunity came up I was very excited. I earned Eagle Scout September 14th, 2023. The Beginning

It all started in February 1st, 2019, the day Boy Scouts became Scouts BSA, the day anyone could join. I heard of this news and my mom asked me if I would want to join, now at the time I was in a different program that shall not be named, when she asked I broke down in tears and said I didn't want to leave my friends, what I didn't know at the time that year on July 30th, 2019, I would become one of the founding members of Troop 26G.      In mid-June 2019 my mom and I were at a recruiting event for the program I was in at the time, we were the booth next to the Cub Scout pack and Boys troop that my brothers are in, and the pack had decided to allow girls, or become "A family pack". Our first campout as Troop 26 G

 So, we were finally a troop, the next step was to go on a campout so we made plans Camp Cedars on the third weekend of August. We were going to work on our Firemen chit, Totin chit, and requirements for our first few ranks.  So first we needed to plan, how were we going to do this? Our first meeting was spent planning. We had planned to borrow our linked boys troops axe box to use for totin chit. The meal planning and oh boy were we in over our heads! Of course most of us had been camping with our families but we rarely cooked at those so we thought it would be a good idea to make pancakes for breakfast Saturday morning. Now if you have been camping yes pancakes are easy to make for the most part unless your inexperienced in camp cooking and fire building but after a hour of trying to cook the pancakes it was done!
